Tell us more about you:

Early years and where you came from?

Since a young age, I always wanted to solve social problems like poverty, inequality, and waste. I was lucky enough to grow in a family that always guided and inspired me to pursue this mission. I studied design and worked as a filmmaker since then. Got married to Duarte, packed our bags and started traveling the world to collect and film stories about social entrepreneurs.

How were you introduced to the world of the Portuguese tech industry?

It came from a necessity! Use technology for good.

We started to build WeChangers - an online platform to connect the World Changers - and need to design and develop it from scratch. That’s when the real introduction happened!

Walk me through your work and what you are doing now in the tech industry.

Currently, I’m the lead designer and the co-founder of WeChangers. WeChangers is an online platform that connects Social Purposed Organizations and Funders - providing stories, tools and up-to-date data on the World Changers.

What part of what you do, you love the most?

Everything! For a lot of the people, the word “ work” is terrifying. For me, it’s naturally part of my mission! Work with and for a purpose!

How do you think that your background and knowledge impact the way you approach your work in the Portuguese tech industry?

As a designer and filmmaker, I believe that it’s easier for me to visualize the product and it’s impact on the user’s experience. I’ve been filming and collecting stories around the world and now, I use technology to spread them.

What advice do you have for young women that want to get into tech and don’t know where to start?

First understand the “why” behind your motivations. Find a purpose, define a strategy and start with small steps.

Walk me through a day in your life as a Portuguese women in tech.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

I honestly don’t know. But I know the best people to ask for advice!

What apps/software/tools can’t you live without?
