Tell us more about you:

Early years and where you came from?

Started in 1988, just about entering university when IT was blasting in Portugal.

How were you introduced to the world of the Portuguese tech industry?

I started in Sales, in an IBM Business Partner selling typing machines and PC’s.

Walk me through your work and what you are doing now in the tech industry.

I’ve taken several positions in sales, business development and managing roles in local software vendors as well as international companies working in the entreprise software and consulting services arena.
In more recent years I’ve been specializing in the Analytics domains, namely by working as Leader for Cognitive, BI / BA, ECM and Advanced Analytics software at IBM.

What part of what you do, you love the most?

Business development, Customer Relationship Management, Problem Solving Strategies and Engagement with C-Level and Key-Decision Makers.

How do you think that your background and knowledge impact the way you approach your work in the Portuguese tech industry?

By being here for many years, having lived the +20 years dramatic change - from early 90’s to 21st century, from IT explosion to #techallaround, I happily and proudly stand as a 47y girl that still learns and loves to share and give back, hoping to change the world, a day and a person at a time.

What advice do you have for young women that want to get into tech and don’t know where to start?

Get a mentor!

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Have as much as mentoring as you can. Pick your battles.

I also nourish my membership at EMCC, the European Mentoring & Coaching Council and I am a proud Toastmaster. Currently, I am co-leading the Business Mentoring Program at WomenWinWin, supporting +20 women that are investing in their own businesses and ideas.
